PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners: The San Bruno Department of Public Works has carefully trimmed back some of the trees in the park across the street from St. Roberts. They are not cutting down the trees, just cutting them back. The purpose is to help the trees be healthier and to make the roadway safer. It is a good reminder of what Lent is all about. We cut back on what we do not really need in order to grow healthier spiritually. We give up part of what we have a right to, for the good of others. Give up part of your regular schedule to get to one weekday Mass during Lent - either here at St. Roberts (6:30 am and 8:30 am) or at a parish near your work. Realize that your many generosities during the year do not simply help you reach goals, but also help very many other people in many ways. God bless you, Father Morris |
A Note from Father Ring Dear Parish Family, Thank you for your prayers and support. My doctor is pleased and has cut back on some of the medication. Still a need to slow down and let the river of my life flow at its own pace. Thanks also to all who are showing me by example that I do not have to try to be responsible for everything - a great lesson. Still, it would be great to see six hundred families/individuals contribute to the Annual Appeal. (I also need to learn that I should leave some things in Gods hands.) This reminds me that I better write my own check! See you soon. Fr. Ring |

READINGS
FOR NEXT SUNDAY, IN THE HOUSE OF GOD It can be difficult to silently pray the Eucharistic prayer as the priest gives voice to it. My mind wanders easily. What has been helpful for me is learning what is happening at different sections of this central prayer of the Eucharistic liturgy. In the opening dialogue, we acknowledge together with the priest "it is right to give Him thanks and praise." First and foremost, this is a prayer of gratitude just as was Jesus prayer of blessing (praise) when he took the bread and wine at his Last Supper. Throughout the preface we remember with thanksgiving the works God has done, is doing, and will do to give us new life. This act of thanksgiving culminates in the praise of all the people singing "Holy, holy, holy . " - Pat Kelly *We welcome into the family of God: Timothy McCarthy, Matthew Redmond, Lilliana Bosnich-Bustos & Giavanna Stavros, who were baptized in Christ. *We pray for the ill: Tony Coogan, Koret Koelman, Terry McLeod, Adela Florez, Ana Cosgaya, Peter Capodonicco, Rosemary McHale, Arthur Candia, Bastiaan Blumenthal, Muriel Krause, Sister Cabrini, Don Vickery, Jeanne McHugh, Catherine Cook, Ann Burns, Imelda Daly, Margarita Velez, Marky, Marlyn Arancibia, Marcia Bourne, Sandra Dill, Randall Guerro, Denise Hawald, Cyndy Smerdel, Theresa Cook, Marina Buhain, Anthony Arrahoo, Father Ring & Rita Gomez.
