PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners, Scrutinies Celebrated??? Last Saturday at the 4:30 Mass, this Sunday at the Noon Mass, and next Sunday at the 5:30 Mass, we will be celebrating the Scrutinies. The reason for the varied Mass schedule is so that more parishioners may have the opportunity to meet our elect. Scrutinies are special rites of preparation for those adults preparing for their Easter Sacraments. These adults, called elect, are expected to self-search and repent for whatever is weak, defective, or sinful in their hearts. Through prayer and self-sacrifice they are expected to bring out and strengthen all that is upright, strong and good. Celebration of the Scrutinies is meant to be a community event and a reminder to all of us that even though we may have already received our sacraments, we too are expected to self-search and repent during this Lenten Season. Our elect include: Brian Barba, Chris Barnes, Emi Caruso, John Compton, Please continue to pray with and for our elect as we all journey together through Lent toward Easter. Deacon Duffey |
A SPECIAL THANK YOU for all your prayers and support for Richard these last 2 weeks. God Bless you all! Lilo & Family |

READINGS FOR NEXT SUNDAY, IN THE HOUSE OF GOD At our family celebrations, we tell stories and remember events from our past to help us to know who we are as a family and from where weve come. In the eucharistic prayer, we tell a story about Jesus and his disciples sharing a last meal before his passion and death. When we now hear, "Take this, all of you, and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you," and "Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant," the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, once crucified and now risen, is present to us here and now in the remembering and sharing of a sacred meal. Give great thanks for this mystery. - P. K. *We welcome into the family of god: Jenna Joyce, Mark Bickle, Katherine Loughran, Briana Cabrera, Jacob & Emma Steenvoorde & Brandon Tate, who were baptized in Christ. *We pray for the ill: Tony Coogan, Koret Koelman, Terry McLeod, Adela Florez, Ana Cosgaya, Peter Capodonicco, Rosemary McHale, Arthur Candia, Bastiaan Blumenthal, Muriel Krause, Sister Cabrini, Don Vickery, Jeanne McHugh, Catherine Cook, Ann Burns, Imelda Daly, Margarita Velez, Marky, Marlyn Arancibia, Marcia Bourne, Sandra Dill, Randall Guerro, Denise Hawald, Cyndy Smerdel, Theresa Cook, Marina Buhain, Father Ring, Perry Gonis, Richard Quintana & Rita Gomez. Each Friday during Lent, you are invited to join our Parish Family and participate in the three Lenten disciplines: Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving. We PRAY together in the Church at 6PM. Then we FAST, in Hennessy Hall, as we share a light meal. Our ALMSGIVING is to put in the basket for the hungry the amount we would have spent for this Friday dinner. St. Vincent de Paul will use our gift to feed our hungry sisters and brothers. This is a great way to get to know members of our Parish Family. |
PRAYER - FASTING - ALMSGIVING |
Let us come together for: |
LENTEN ANOINTING MASS |
At the Noon Mass on Sunday, April 9th, the Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated. All who are seriously ill in body, mind or spirit & all who are experiencing the affects of the aging process are invited to come before the priest as he lays hands on them. The congregation will pray silently for their recovery, as the priest anoints each with oil. The grace from this Sacrament brings us faith, trust and hope. |
COMMUNAL RECONCILIATION SERVICE |
We find forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, where we hear the Word of God as He speaks to us of His forgiveness. The only requirement is sorrow for our sins. We admit our failings to the priest. Then, we receive, through him, the Fathers pardon and peace. Please come to this service on Wednesday, April 19th at 7:30 PM. |
THE
GOSPEL OF MARK |
You are invited to a spectacular and dramatic presentation of scripture, light, and movement when Michael Reardon and Patrick Lane bring THE GOSPEL OF MARK to our community.
