Dear Parishioners,

Today begins Holy Week. I offer these daily reflections as a guide to all of us as we walk the Holy Week journey with Jesus. I hope that you find them helpful. I hope I do too.

Passion Sunday: As we read or listen to the Passion story let us ask ourselves what role best fits us in the drama of Jesus’ Passion? Would we be Jesus, or Pilate or Peter or Judas or someone else? Let us spend time in prayer with Jesus’ Passion as the story of our life.

Monday: "Here is my servant...he will bring Justice." Is 42: Today we will be grateful for the opportunity to proclaim Jesus’ message for the challenge to live what we proclaim.

Tuesday: "One of you is going to betray me". John 13:21. What enemies from within and without do we face today. Let us tell our story to God.

Wednesday: " My hour has come". Matt 26:18. Jesus wanted to be near his friends because he was lonely and in great distress needing the support of his disciples. He needed time with them so that they might understand the significance of what he was about to do. Let us take time to imagine that we are there with Jesus in the quiet of the night.

Holy Thursday: "As I have done you must do." John 13. This evening we gather at the table of the Lord to remember Jesus’ gift of himself to us in the Eucharist and Jesus example of loving service in foot washing. It is also an evening for unity in the body of Christ as we all gather at one Liturgy. Do we need to be reconciled with someone before celebrating our unity this evening.

Good Friday. "Who is it you are looking for?" "Jesus, they answered." John 18:4-5. Today we will find Jesus and experience wholeness by participating in the liturgy of Good Friday. Let us invite a friend or neighbor to accompany us to Good Friday services.

Holy Saturday: "In the beginning." Gen 1:1. These words open the vigil celebration. Tonight in our parish celebration of the Easter mysteries let us listen attentively to the story of salvation. We will rejoice, celebrate and welcome the newly baptised members of our parish and unite with them as we wait in love and hope to greet the risen Jesus.

Peace,
Sister Mary

LENTEN RECONCILIATION SERVICE

We are all sinners, imperfect people in an imperfect world. Sin keeps us from knowing, loving and serving our God and affects our relationship with those we love. We say to our Father:

Though so often I have rejected You, You have never turned from me. "Come back to Me with all your heart" has been Your constant plea...Now, at last, I return to Your arms open wide. In Your Sacrament of Forgiveness, my sins to You I confide..."Father, forgive me", sorrowfully I pray. "Your sins are forgotten; Jesus washed them away!"

Come, experience the joy of forgiveness at our Communcal Penance Service (Confession) on Monday, March 29th, at 7:30PM.

JUST A REMINDER
