PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners, The time since my operation has gone by quickly. I still have to learn to slow down, lose weight and do more exercise than walking a golf course. I want to express my thanks to Fr. John Glogowski for the sacrifice he made in being willing to leave his previous assignment and come to St. Roberts to take my place. My thanks also to Fr. Morris, Fr. Marini and all the staff for their extra efforts. During my time away, many important events occured - Baptisms and Confirmation, weddings and funerals, fund raisers and social events...Thank you to all who made all these things possible. I look forward to the weeks and months ahead. Peace. Fr. Ring |
THIS WEEK IN THE LITURGICAL CALENDAR |
FEAST OF ST. MATTHIAS, APOSTLE - Fri., 5/14 REMINDER! READINGS FOR NEXT SUNDAY, SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD |
MASS MUSINGS |
"Communion From the Cup" When we see Eucharist as some thing or person, as Jesus Christ present to us under the appearance of bread and wine, we must remember that Jesus is present "Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity" under both the bread and the wine. If we eat the Host but do not drink from the Cup, we have still received the Body and Blood of Christ. So why drink from the Cup? Because Eucharist is an act done by Christ. Full participation in this Sacrament involves doing what he did. He asks us, "Can you drink from the cup I shall drink?" (Mark 10:38). - Pat Kelly |

Dear Friends: On this Mothers Day, we remember that Jesus has given us His Mother. Two Millennium ago, Our Father said to her: "Mary, I need you." She answered "Yes" and Gods Light came to live within her. At His birth, Jesus looked at Mary and cried: "Mama, I need you." She answered: "Here I am; I love you." She nourished Him and held Him close to her heart. At the wedding feast at Cana, the groom came to Mary, saying: "Mary, I need you." She brought his need to Jesus. For love of her, Jesus changed water into finest wine. As He carried that heavy cross up the hill to Calvary, Jesus looked into Marys eyes and wordlessly cried out: "Mama I need you." Mary followed Jesus and stood beneath His cross till the very end, sighing: "I am here; I love you." At the moment of Marys death, Jesus came to her, smiling: "I am here; I love you; Mama, come home." As she was always there for Jesus, so she is always here for us. All we need do is cry out: "Mama, I need you." Mary will say to each of us: "I am here; I love you." She will bring our needs to Jesus. The following is a letter received from the Presentation Sisters: Dear Rev. Father Ring, This note is a small testimony of our gratitude to you and your parishioners for the donation of $3,317 toward the needs of our retired Sisters. It was a very kind and glorious gesture on your part. Be assured that your intentions, and those of your wonderful parishioners will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers. On behalf of our retired and infirm Sisters who have labored so unselfishly in the past, I say "Thank you, and may Gods blessings be upon you, and your families." Each or any donation that you give, goes before the very throne of God, in the lives, prayers, and sacrifices of our Sisters. In Jesus own words, "A glass of water given in His name will not go unrewarded". Again, the Scriptures continually remind us that some day all of us have our own appointment with our loving God and that "our good deeds follow us". (Revelation) Yours very sincerely in Christ, |
