Dear Parishioners:

Even though it won’t officially be summer until June 21st, school is out and summer vacation has begun. Much has been accomplished over the past ten months - we worked together, played together, and most important, prayed together. Even though every day wasn’t perfect, overall it has been a successful year.

We are truly fortunate at St. Robert’s School to be blessed with such an outstanding community. Through hard work and dedication of clergy, faculty, staff, parents, parishioners, alumni, and students, our school has spanned half a century, and we embrace the opportunity of educating students for the next millennium.

Special congratulations to SR class of 1999. I wish you every blessing and happiness in high school and beyond. I know you will bring with you the teachings, values, and ideals of your Catholic education at SR.

To everyone, I wish a wonderful, relaxing summer, and I thank you for making St. Robert’s School and Parish so special.

Sincerely,
Patricia Bordin

P.S. Don’t forget to mark you calendars for the 50th Anniversary of St. Robert’s School, September 11, 1999!

FATHER'S DAY SPIRITUAL BOUQUETS

Remember your father with a spiritual bouquet on Father’s Day. They are available in the vestibule of the church and can be returned in the collection basket or at the parish office.

VACATION MASS CONTEST

Once again we will have our annual contest for the Parish bulletin from a vacation church you worshiped at during the summer. The prize goes to the family who submits one from the furthest point from St. Robert’s. It will be hard to beat the one last year from Germany. As you know, I enjoy seeing what is happening at other parishes so bring them to me even if your vacation destination is the Russian River or Santa Cruz.

LETTERS TO GOD FROM OUR 3RD GRADE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASS

Dear God, I love you. Could you pretty please help me on the fourth rosary mystery.

Dear God, Please help me have a safe and fun summer.

MASS INTENTIONS

One of the teachings of the church is that after death, all who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still infectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven. It is based on this tradition that Masses are celebrated in memory of those who have died. From the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God. If you wish a Mass celebrated in memory of a loved one, please phone the Parish secretary at 589-2800. Masses are also offered for the intentions of the living. It is a beautiful present to a loved one.

SUMMER OF LOVE

Summer is an excellent time to begin service as a Eucharistic Minister, Choir Member, Lector, Usher/Hospitality Minister, Children’s Liturgy Minister, or Altar Society member. You can help our liturgical ministries stay strong and vibrant during the months while others are vacationing. Call Pat Kelly at 589-2800.
