PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners, The Parish picnic was a great success. For me, the most important aspect was that it brought together all segments of the Parish, and it provided an opportunity for us to come to know each other. Thank you to all who helped. The Diocese of Santa Rosa will continue to be in the news because of the clergy scandals that have happened. I hope that all of us remember to pray for all - the victims as well as the perpetrators. I do hope, however, that we never allow our Faith in Christ and His Church to be disturbed by human failure and sin. I want to welcome back to St. Roberts School our returning teachers. We have a faithful faculty who are most talented and true people of Faith. Again, remember that "Faith is caught more than it is taught." So parents, grandparents, godparents and neighbors dont forget to pass on your Faith by word and example. Next Saturday night, September 11th, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of our school. As the "old timers" will remember it was originally St. Brunos School and only became St. Roberts with the foundation of the Parish in 1958. In your prayers, remember the group of St. Brunos parishioners who helped Father Doyle in raising the money to build our wonderful school. Sincerely, |
READINGS FOR NEXT SUNDAY,
24TH OF THE YEAR |
MASS MUSINGS |
Sometimes when you come to Mass, you have a real strong desire to pray, to worship, and to say thanks to God, and sometimes you dont. In either case, remember that God loves you first. And if that rings hollow, think of some other person who loves you or who has shown love for you in the past. Gods love and the love we have for one another need to be at the heart of our worship. Its at the heart of our gathering as a family/community. For children and adults, knowing that you are loved makes all other things possible, including your own ability to love or be thankful. - Pat Kelly |
