PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parish Family, On behalf of the priests, our deacon and sisters and the Parish staff, I want to promise you our prayers this Christmas Season and in the first months of the new millenium. I would also ask you to remember us in your prayers. This past year God has blessed our Parish community in many ways. There were: 114 baptisms, 113 first communicants, 72 confirmations, 13 adults received into the Church, 20 marriages, 61 parishioners were called home by God and are now part of our heavenly parish praying for all of us. It was also a wonderful year as hundreds of parishioners gave of their time and talents to parish events and parish charities - from the festival to making lunches for those with AIDS, from visiting the sick to teaching our Faith to the young. The list could go on and on. It was also a year of generosity, not only to the collections of the Parish but to the Annual Appeal for the Archdiocese, the special appeal for Tuition Assistance for children going to Catholic Schools and the special collections and gifts for the poor to list just a few. I tell other priests with real pride that our Parish gives well over 10% of its income to the needs of others. Thank you for making our Parish very special. Father Ring |
When I was a kid growing up in Minnesota, my brothers and I would get into a seemingly eternal game of Monopoly on Christmas Eve to pass the time. We would do anything (even shovel snow!) to make the waiting pass by more quickly. When youre young, the hours seem to drag ... on ... so ... slowly. The older and busier I get, the quickerlifepassesmeby (or is it vice-versa?). This Jubilee Year, couldnt adults and youth do each other a big favor by spending time together? When adults enter the world of younger people, they do them the favor not of merely passing time, but of affirming them and showing them that they are deserving of our time. When younger people enter the world of older folks, they can re-teach them the finer points of hanging out, being enthusiastic, taking a fresh perspective, having fun, being serious, asking questions, and living life in the moment. Gods Wisdom is revealed not only in the singular Person of Jesus, but also in nurturing groups like the Holy Family and Chosen People. From the very young to the very, very old, we need each other, thanks be to God! Merry Christmas, everyone. - P.K. |

CALENDARS FOR THE YEAR
2000 |
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION |
Saturday, January 1st, is the Soemnity of Mary, Mother of God, as well as the first Saturday of the month. Mass will be at 9:00 a.m., followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacarment, for one hour. What a wonderful way to begin our Jubilee Year, the theme of which is "Open Wide the Doors to Christ". Attending Mass; listening to the Word of God; and receiving the Body and Blood of Christ; spending time with Him will certainly open the doors of our hearts to our Lord. He is knocking-will we open ourselves to Him? |
