PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners, Carmelite Father Titus Brandsma once wrote, "Do as perfectly as you can This weekend, thanks to the help of many parishioners we can all skip and play as a child. The Parish Festival is always one of the highlights of our parish calendar. Come and feast, play and enjoy the excellent food, fun, dancing, singing, and games. Come one and all! Meet your neighbors and friends! Help the school. I thank in advance all involved. I know you all work very hard using your talents and your special creative skills. Thank you for all the extra work you have been putting in on nights and weekends building booths, some newly painted. Thank you for rehearsing dances and songs. Thank you, administrators and organizers, for generally doing whatever was needed. Thank you for Selling and Buying raffle tickets. Thanks to all the volunteers, without whom we would have no festival. Thanks to all of you, we can skip and play like a child. Deacon Duffey |

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION |
Mother Teresa has said: "To be alone with Jesus in adoration and intimate union with Him is the greatest gift of love the tender love of our Father in Heaven. The fruit of our adoration is that our love for Jesus is more intimate, our love for each other is more understanding, our love for the poor is more compassionate." On Saturday, October 6th, following the 8:30 am Mass and continuing until 10 am, we have an opportunity to pray in the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Come open your heart to Him! |
RESPECT LIFE BANNER |
To the left of our sanctuary, you will see a banner with a red rose imprinted upon it. The rose symbolizes Gods gift of life to us. It is a reminder that human life, at all its stages, is precious and deserves respect. October is designated as Respect Life Month. For these 31 days, our banner will help us to affirm the goodness of Gods creation by valuing the unborn; providing for the poor; rooting out the cause of violence and war; ending the death penalty and protecting the elderly, infirmed and terminally ill. We pray that God will give us the strength and wisdom to love life. |
ANOINTING OF THE SICK |
"Heal the Sick!" Jesus wants His Church to take care of those who are ill by praying for them in His Name. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is for anyone who begins to be in danger of death from illness or from the aging process. In the reception of this Sacrament we receive the graces of strength, peace and courage to overcome the difficulties of serious illness or frailty of advanced years; a closer union with the suffering of Christ; sanctification, and often the restoration of health; and preparation for our final journey to eternal life. Our Anointing Mass will take place on Sunday, October 7th, at Noon. All who are ill or experiencing the affects of aging are invited to receive this Sacrament. |

SUMMER BULLETINS |
Thank you to all the families who shared with me the Parish bulletins from the Churches they worshipped at during the summer. This year I have learned many things about Parish life in 18 states and 8 foreign countries. The award for the bulletin from the greatest distance goes to the Fontenot family who brought back a Church bulletin from Finland! New Zealand was a close second. What stood out to me in the bulletins that you shared with me this year was that the church was very much alive in our world. This was especially true in the State of Georgia. The church is growing by leaps and bounds in the old South - many ministries, large youth programs, and many new Churches. Thanks for sharing your travels. Father Ring |
