PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners,
We are children of the Light! In the churches of the Christian East, the sacraments by which we become Christians (Baptism, Chrismation or Confirmation, and Eucharist) are called holy illuminationWE ARE ILLUMINED by CHRIST! We who have pondered Gods grace in the shadows of Adventwe who have waited with anxious anticipation the dawnare now bathed in the brilliance of a new day. For the Day of the Lord has dawned, and our darkness has been dispelled. Isaiahs words resound in our hearts today:
It is the Epiphany of the Lord! The Lords grace and light, wisdom and love are made manifestin us! We are to be the light of Christ which dispels the darkness. We are to be witnesses who glow, with the transformative power of the God who saves us. In us-who are illumined by Christ - is His LIGHT to shine. In us shall the poor and the lowly find the compassion of the Lord. "Let your light shine for all the world to see", says the Lord. The wonder of this day compels us: To Let Our Light Shine!! Father Tom |
Being Present to God We have outlined some important beliefs about Church and liturgy over the past weeks:
Another important reality for us to consider as we prepare to make adjustments to our liturgy is this: God is truly present to us as we gather for liturgy. But what is our attitude? Are we present to God? Is there real presence coming from us when we celebrate Mass? We must value the love and reverence we have for God and in so doing, also value our need to create an environment of prayer. Some of the upcoming changes are intended to help us foster an attitude of reverence for Gods Presence. Pat Vallez-Kelly |

The support went to some of the neediest people across the United States; from the inner cities of the rural South, from the deserts of the Southwest to Alaskas cold wilderness - 134 DIOCESES RECEIVED ASSISTANCE FROM THE COLLECTION.
