PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Friends, Joyful memories of both our Moms fill our hearts on this Mothers' Day. Though we see them no more, we experience their presence with us, loving us and watching over us. We listen to today's Gospel: Jesus tells us He is our Good Shepherd, Who has laid down His life for us. Jesus' love for each of us is that of a mother. Like Jesus, any mother would willingly and gladly take upon herself the suffering and pain of her child. If she could, she would die for her child. We pray today for all mothers - those in heaven and those here upon earth. We pray especially for mothers whose sons and daughters have died in the Iraqui conflict. May Jesus, our Good Shepherd, hold them close to His Heart; comfort them and let them know that their children are, this day, with Him in Paradise. We wish all mothers and all children a very Happy Mothers' Day - - - Cherish one another! Sincerely, |

A NOTE FROM FATHER RING |
Dear Parishioners, Please accept my thanks for your great generosity at Easter, $28,443. We had budgeted for $30,000. This collection, along with that of Christmas, is extremely important for the financial well being of our Parish. From the money donated at the soup suppers during Lent and from the collection taken on Good Friday, we were able to make donations of $500 each to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Robert's, Catholic Relief Services for aid to Iraq and the Catholic Worker House which helps the needy here in San Bruno. We also made a donation of $400 to the Church in the Holy Land. Again, thank you. Sincerely, |
ARCHBISHOP'S ANNUAL APPEAL |

Easter Eucharist This is the time of the Easter Season when a little touch-up maintenance is required. The Easter lilies lose their blooms and need to be replaced . . . sagging streamers need little nips and tucks to keep them out of people's hair . . . a few lightbulbs need to be replaced . . . water needs to be added to the fountain . . . you get the picture. Our parish celebrations of First Communion come at just the right time in the Easter Season this year to remind us to keep alive the 50 days of Easter as faithfully as we kept the 40 days of Lent. In Eucharist, dozens of boys and girls of our parish enter fully into the Mystery of Christ. By the power of his Spirit, by the proclamation of his Word, by the Communion of his Body and Blood, and by our faithful living of the Gospel Way, He Who Lives draws us into a life-giving relationship with God which is constantly being challenged, deepened, strengthened, and renewed. For the sake of these children and for our own sake, may our actions during Communion every Sunday show that this is a meaningful act. Today, let us truly own this prayer that we pray over the gifts of bread and wine:
